Plano Event Center hosts free, family-friendly Texas Mineral & Fossil Show May 19 - 21

The Plano Event Center will be rocking out May 19 – 21, when gem, mineral and fossil dealers from around the globe converge for the Texas Mineral & Fossil Show. The dazzling display is fun and educational for the entire family, and best of all, admission and parking are free. In addition, each child in attendance will receive a free rock or fossil.

The show promises something for everyone. “There are plenty of affordable items for budding young rockhounds, while seasoned collectors and geology buffs will find rare and exquisite specimens,” said show organizer Sandra Gonzales. “The Mineral and Fossil Show is a great place to just take in the natural beauty of minerals or delve deeper into the science behind them.”

The show also promises to delight dinosaur enthusiasts, since paleontologists and miners Amo Thomas Lindgren and Anthony Lindgren will be among the vendors. The father-son duo recently unearthed a Dryosaurus altus skeleton in a Jurassic quarry in Wyoming, and will display it at the show.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The Plano Event Center is located at 2000 E. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, TX 75074.
