On Saturday morning, July 22, 2023, at approximately 6:05 am, emergency services were summoned to Martin Luther King Freeway (Highway 287) near Berry Street to respond to a major accident involving a pedestrian.
According to reports from the Fort Worth Police Department, a female pedestrian was walking in one of the lanes of traffic when she was struck by a passing vehicle. The collision proved to be fatal, and upon arrival at the scene, first responders pronounced the victim deceased.
In the aftermath of the accident, all lanes of Martin Luther King Freeway were immediately closed off to ensure the safety of investigators and first responders as they conducted a thorough examination of the scene.
No charges have been announced.
