Shoplifting Incident Leads to Arrest of Repeat Offenders in Prosper

On August 27, 2023, the Prosper Police Department swiftly responded to a call from an attentive employee at a store in The Gates of Prosper shopping center, reporting an alleged shoplifting in progress. Officers arrived promptly and apprehended two non-resident females, discovering approximately $2,200 worth of stolen merchandise in their possession from the store.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the two suspects, identified as Shatarah Futrell and Lacorya Haddock, had also pilfered items from multiple other stores within the same shopping center. In addition to the stolen goods, officers uncovered stolen property inside their vehicle, along with several criminal instruments utilized to bypass anti-theft devices.

Both suspects, Futrell and Haddock, were subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Collin County Jail. They have each been booked on charges of Theft of Property (less than $2,500) in conjunction with four prior convictions for the same theft offense, as well as charges related to the possession and use of criminal instruments.
