Dallas Council Member Adam Bazaldua Appointed to National League of Cities 2024 Large Cities Council

Dallas District 7 Council Member Adam Bazaldua has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2024 Large Cities Council. Bazaldua, elected to a one-year term, will work on developing and guiding programs among local elected officials from similar communities. NLC President Mayor-Elect David Sander of Rancho Cordova, CA, announced the appointment.

Council Member Bazaldua expressed his excitement about the honor, stating, "I’m excited to lead as a representative for Dallas in this collaborative effort with fellow large cities as we share insights and experiences that will shape policies for the betterment of our residents."

In his role within NLC’s Large Cities Council, Bazaldua will play a crucial role in encouraging collaboration, networking, and developing resources and programs beneficial to communities with similar demographics, size, or location. NLC President Mayor-Elect David Sander highlighted the importance of member councils in shaping NLC policy and expressed excitement about Bazaldua's service.

The leadership of this year’s council includes Chair Adam Bazaldua, Councilmember, Dallas, TX; Vice Chair Wardine Alexander, Council President Pro Tem, Birmingham, AL; and Vice Chair Abbie Kamin, Councilmember, Houston, TX. The council aims to ensure that cities, towns, and villages across the country have access to ideas and resources for their thriving development.
