City of Dallas Department of Public Works in collaboration with the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG), the two-day event drew participants from 22 municipalities eager to delve into various aspects of construction inspection.
Led by experts from the City of Dallas, the seminar covered a wide range of topics essential to effective construction oversight. Discussions included detailed sessions on traffic control planning, materials testing, construction material calculations, and the importance of clear communication in inspection processes.
The event not only provided valuable learning opportunities but also fostered networking among public works professionals with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, spanning from newcomers to seasoned veterans with over three decades of service.
A highlight of the seminar was a field visit to an active construction site in Dallas, offering attendees a firsthand look at the practical application of their classroom learning.
Reflecting on the seminar’s success, Don Spear, Public Works training manager, expressed satisfaction with the robust turnout and the collaborative spirit among participants. Looking ahead, Spear emphasized the potential for future editions of the training to further enhance skills and promote partnerships across neighboring communities.
