On August 5, 2024, Irving Police Officers responded to a call at the Walmart located on SH183 and Esters Rd in Irving. A man had been caught stealing and initially provided false information regarding his identity. Further investigation identified the man as 26-year-old Cameron Ray Muzny, a wanted felon from Eagle Lake, Texas. Muzny was wanted on an arrest warrant issued by the Colorado County Sheriff's Office for a Motion to Revoke Probation related to a Burglary of Building conviction from a 2020 case.
During a search of Muzny's vehicle, officers discovered a substantial amount of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine. As a result, he was charged with the following offenses: Failure to Identify as a Fugitive with Intent to Give False Information, two counts of Possession of Controlled Substance PG 1/1-B less than 1 gram, Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1/1-B over 1 gram and less than 4 grams, Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1/1-B over 4 grams and less than 200 grams, and Theft of Property. Muzny's bond was set at $86,500. Additionally, the Colorado County courts placed a $30,000 bond hold for the open warrant, bringing his total bond to $116,500.
On August 6, Muzny was transferred to the Dallas County Jail, where he remains incarcerated.
