Irving to Host 'Illuminate Irving' Ceremony for Domestic Violence Awareness Month

In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the City of Irving Family Advocacy Center (FAC) will conduct the “Illuminate Irving” ceremony, inspired by the traditional Japanese Toro Nagashi ceremony, which floats lit lanterns on the water in remembrance of those who have suffered atrocities. This event aims to honor victims and survivors of domestic violence.

Participants will enjoy snacks, artwork, informational booths, and music during the ceremony. Attendees will also have the opportunity to personalize a water lantern in honor of a victim or survivor, which will be released on the water at the conclusion of the event.
