Johnny Dangelo Moore, a notorious Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was apprehended on October 12, 2023, in Garland, Texas, by members of the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force, assisted by DPS Special Agents. Moore, previously convicted of serious offenses, had been on the run since April 2023.
In 2015, Moore was found guilty of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, leading to a five-year prison sentence. He was also convicted of Terroristic Threat Causing Fear of Imminent Serious Bodily Injury and Assault Causing Bodily Injury of a Family Member the same year. Subsequently, in 2016, Moore was convicted of Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact following an incident involving a 10-year-old boy, resulting in a four-year prison term. He was released from TDCJ custody in 2020.
Moore’s recent arrest was prompted by multiple warrants issued in Dallas County, including Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, Resisting Arrest, and Possession of Marijuana, all of which led law enforcement agencies on a months-long chase to locate him.
Contrary to previous cases, Moore's capture did not result from tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers; therefore, no reward will be paid for his arrest.
