Officer Martinez, during his routine patrol, noticed a vehicle with its tail lamps illuminated and two occupants fast asleep inside. Concerned about the situation, he approached the vehicle to investigate further. Upon making contact with the occupants, Officer Martinez requested them to exit the vehicle.
During this interaction, backup Officer M. James noticed what appeared to be a glass pipe, suspected to be used for narcotics, in the hand of the driver. This discovery led to a comprehensive search of the vehicle.
Subsequently, the search yielded a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, along with syringes containing residue believed to be heroin. In addition to the narcotics, a substantial quantity of various individuals' identifying information was discovered inside the vehicle.
Both occupants of the vehicle were arrested and now face serious charges. They have been charged with Fraudulent Possession of Identifying Information, a second-degree felony, as well as Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1.
The Plano Police Department has expressed its appreciation for the outstanding work done by Officers Martinez and James in this case, which led to the successful investigation and arrest.
