Marvin Clifford McFarland, 80, of Ponder, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in Denton. He was born August 7, 1935 in Cameron, Texas to George Henry McFarland and Susie Elizabeth Pratt McFarland. He graduated from Irving High School and attended UTA. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Kathleen Ann Dixon on September 2, 1954 in Irving. He was a member of the Lions Club of Irving and the Planning and Zoning Commission in Irving, and an insurance agent.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be Friday, December 11, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Rev. Kim Broadstreet officiating. Burial will follow at Jackson Cemetery in Krum. Pallbearers will be Buddy Herman, Marvin Randle, Terry Bagley, Ted Leveridge, Robert Holley and Tommy Batchelor. Clifford is survived by his wife, Kathleen Ann McFarland of Ponder; daughters, Kamie Lynn Holt of New Boston and Keri Lee Harper of Krum; sister, Christine Patterson of Tulsa, OK; brother, Henry McFarland of Euless; 4 grandchildren, Kala Holt, Kadie Tull, Kara Crowell, Kailey Harper and 1 great grandson, Connor Tull. |
