Annie Leota Farley Smith went home to Jesus and Daddy on Sept. 10, 2021. She was born Jan.27, 1935, to Oscar and Lena Farley in the Pollard Community near Idabel, Oklahoma. She is preceeded in death by her husband, Carl David Smith of Irving ,Texas. She is also preceeded in death by her parents, Oscar and Lena Farley, and her siblings; Alma Hamilton, Thelma Cooke, Helen Burress Hendrix , Alice Wilson, Dale Valentine, and her brother Ernest Farley. Leota is survived by her children; Carla Robinson, Susan Cole and husband Bruce, David Smith and wife Lisa , Kathryn Welch and husband David. Leota, lovingly known as Nanny, leaves her grandchildren;Amy Simmons and husband Justin, Misty Robinson, Matt Robinson, BJ Cole and wife Katherine, Amanda Cole, Annaliese Smith, Victoria Smith, Jessica Godwin and husband Dylan. Leota also leaves her 7 great grandchildren, whom she adored and her dear nieces and nephews. Leota was a skilled seamstress and quilter. She worked diligently in her yard to transform it into a beautiful flower garden so she could share the beauty. Her love of music spread to her family and to the church choir. She was committed to the youth of her church and opening her home to them. Leota loved serving God and her church family. Her family and friends will remember her as a kind and caring person who appreciated all that life gave her. She will be missed. Memorial services will be held on Oct. 23 at 2:00 at Acton Baptist Church in Granbury, Texas. Although we appreciate flowers we would like to further the research for Alzheimer’s and dementia research.
