Four Drunks Arrested After Early Morning Pursuit Near Irving Mall

On Monday, August 26, 2024, at approximately 3:24 AM, Irving Police Officers were called to the Irving Mall in response to reports of individuals causing a disturbance and acting suspiciously. The officers arrived at the parking area on the side facing Beltline Road, near the entrance to AMC Theatres. Upon their arrival, several individuals fled the scene on foot. As officers searched for the individuals, they observed them leaving the area in a vehicle.

A brief vehicle pursuit ensued, leading to the apprehension of four individuals. All four were found to be intoxicated and were taken into custody on various charges.

Yoandris Garces, 22, of Arlington, was charged with Public Intoxication, Evading Arrest Detention, and Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle. An additional charge of Assault of a Peace Officer was later added following an incident during his booking at the jail.

The driver, 29-year-old David Ismael Sanabria-Paternina, also of Arlington, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), Evading Arrest Detention, Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle, Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1/1-b (Meth/Fentanyl), and Immigration-Ice Hold.

Janderver Urbina-Betancourt, 22, of Arlington, faced charges of Public Intoxication, Evading Arrest Detention, and Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle.

Jair Zamora-Martinez, 21, of Grand Prairie, was charged with Public Intoxication, Evading Arrest Detention, and Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle.

The incident remains under investigation by the Irving Police Department.
