Body of 23-Year-Old Man Recovered from Lake Lewisville After Drowning

On Sunday, September 1st, Texas Game Wardens and the Lewisville Fire Department responded to reports of a drowning at Lake Lewisville. Preliminary information indicated that a 23-year-old male went underwater and did not resurface in a part of the lake that is approximately 45 feet deep.

The search efforts for the missing man extended late into the night and resumed early on Labor Day, with assistance from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Authorities employed various search methods in their effort to locate the individual.

The man’s body was recovered on Monday evening by the Lewisville Fire Department. The recovery was made possible with the use of side scan sonar, a technology that helps locate objects underwater. The identity of the victim has not yet been released pending notification of family members.
