Man Charged with Aggravated Kidnapping After Forcing Victim to Drive at Gunpoint in Irving

On August 27, 2024, at approximately 3:08 p.m., an Irving Police Officer responded to a reported disturbance at the intersection of Highway 635 and North MacArthur Boulevard in Irving, Texas. The female victim contacted 911, stating that she had been forced to drive the suspect to the location.

The suspect was identified as 46-year-old Robert McNair. According to the preliminary investigation, McNair allegedly threatened the victim with a firearm and instructed her to drive him to his destination against her will.

Police officers located McNair at the scene and took him into custody. He was charged with Aggravated Kidnapping with a Deadly Weapon, classified as a first-degree felony in Texas. McNair's bond was set at $100,000. He is currently being held at the Dallas County Jail.
