Irving Seeks Community Input for Heritage District Mural

The City of Irving is inviting residents to contribute ideas for a 5,000-square-foot mural to be painted on the walls surrounding the TRE railway bridge at the intersection of O’Connor Road and Rock Island Road. The mural will celebrate the city's historic Heritage District.

A Community Input Meeting will be held to gather suggestions for the mural design:

  • Date: Wednesday, Oct. 2
  • Time: 6:30 p.m.
  • Location: Jack D. Huffman Community Building, 801 W. Irving Blvd.

Following the meeting, a citywide vote will take place from Oct. 17-27 to select the final mural design from the finalists. Updates will be available on the city website and social media platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, and Nextdoor.

The Irving Heritage District Mural Project, overseen by the Department of Housing and Redevelopment in collaboration with the Department of Arts and Culture, is seeking artist proposals to create a mural on what is regarded as an entrance to the Heritage District.
