Stolen Vehicle Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Suspect Wanted for Robbery and Capital Murder

On Friday morning at approximately 8:49 a.m., Sgt. Blaustein and his shift received a Flock Safety Alert regarding a stolen vehicle near 9600 White Settlement Road. Officers from the Fort Worth Police Department and White Settlement Police Department located the vehicle traveling southbound on Expedition Drive, where they conducted a felony stop.

The driver, a Hispanic male, initially provided a false name to officers. After further investigation, the suspect was identified as John Bazan of Fort Worth, who had an active warrant for Robbery and Capital Murder issued by the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. Bazan was also charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Failure to Identify as a Fugitive.

Authorities commended the collaboration between WSPD, FWPD, and RTCC in apprehending this dangerous individual.
