On Wednesday afternoon, an Arlington Police Motorcycle officer sustained injuries in a collision with a car near the intersection of Park Row Dr and Woodland West Dr.
The officer was transported to a nearby hospital, and reports indicate that he is expected to recover. Chief Jones, along with members of the Traffic Division and other APD employees, visited the officer at the hospital. They noted that despite the incident, he remained in good spirits and even shared some jokes during their visit.
Preliminary information indicates an elderly female in a sedan struck the officer as he traveled along Park Row Drive.
The driver of the car involved in the collision stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
The crash is currently being investigated to determine what happened.
