At approximately 12:30 AM, Dallas Police responded to a call for service in the 2500 block of W. Northwest Highway. A preliminary investigation determined that a driver was traveling northbound in the 1800 block of Storey Lane when they struck a pedestrian and left the scene.
Dallas Fire Rescue arrived at the scene, where the victim was pronounced dead.
Further investigation identified the suspect driver as 31-year-old Juan Morgan Munoz. Munoz drove to the 2500 block of W. Northwest Highway and called 911 to report the crash. He was subsequently arrested and charged with Felony DWI and Collision Involving Death.
Additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
