Plane Crash Near McKinney National Airport Leaves Two Dead, One Injured

Just after 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 27th, McKinney Fire Department and Police Department responded to the area of County Road 317 south of McKinney National Airport to investigate a plane crash. Emergency responders found a Cessna 414 aircraft crashed into a dirt hill at a construction site.

“The preliminary information we have is the plane crashed after taking off from the McKinney National Airport,” said the NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board).

Officials confirm two people on board the plane were killed. A third occupant was airlifted to a local hospital by CareFlite air ambulance.

An NTSB investigator is en route to the scene and is expected to arrive tomorrow. Once on site, the investigator will begin the process of documenting the scene and examining the aircraft. The aircraft will then be recovered to a secure facility for further evaluation.

Witnesses to the accident or those who have surveillance video or other information that could be relevant to the investigation are asked to contact the NTSB at witness@ntsb.gov.
