On Friday, July 19, 2024, at approximately 8:45 PM, Dallas Fire Rescue and Police responded to an accident at the intersection of Southwell Road and Harry Hines Boulevard.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a motorcycle, occupied by two individuals, was traveling northbound on Harry Hines Boulevard. A 20-year-old man driving a truck southbound on Harry Hines Boulevard turned left onto Southwell Road, crashing into the motorcycle.
Both the driver and the rider of the motorcycle were transported to a local hospital. The rider succumbed to their injuries, while the driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and will be charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
The 20-year-old truck driver was arrested and charged with Collision Involving Death and Collision Involving Serious Bodily Injury.
The crash remains under investigation.
