An Arlington resident claimed a $7.5 million estimated annuitized jackpot prize for the Lotto Texas® drawing held on May 17. The annual payments option was selected at the time of purchase. The claimant will receive 30 annual payments of $250,000 before taxes.
The winning ticket with self-picked numbers matched all six of the numbers drawn (5-13-22-29-37-48). The ticket was purchased at One World Grocery, located at 2881 Highway 157 N., in Mansfield. The claimant elected to remain anonymous.
The winner told the Texas Lottery they won “a few dollars here and there” when playing Texas Lottery® games in the past, but when they discovered they won the Lotto Texas jackpot for the May 17 drawing, they were “overwhelmed with disbelief” and “nervous, but excited.”
“I called my best friend, cried and wished my late wife was here to be a part of this,” the claimant said about the moment they saw that they won.
With the recent Lotto Texas jackpot prize winnings, the winner plans to retire and travel, while being debt-free.
Lotto Texas is played by picking six numbers from one to 54 and offers multimillion-dollar jackpots. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:12 p.m. CT. For $1 more per Play, a player can select the Extra! add-on feature and win up to $10,000 more on non-jackpot prizes.
