The body of 36-year-old Caitlin Breanne Smith was discovered in a wooded area near the 900 block of W University Dr. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner ruled her death a suicide by hanging.
Smith had been arrested by Denton County deputies on February 4th for open warrants related to charges of Criminal Mischief and Harassment of a Public Servant. She was released from jail on February 13th.
At the time of her arrest, she had been staying at the Monsignor King Outreach Center on N. Loop 288 which is a homeless shelter.
Prior to her recent arrest, she spent 11 months at the Denton County Jail for Criminal Mischief in the Lewisville area.
She had a pending court case for those charges scheduled for March 3rd, which was canceled following her death.
