Celina Teacher Arrested on Child Endangerment Charge After Appearing Impaired at School

On Thursday afternoon, October 30th, officers from the Celina Police Department were called to Moore Middle School after reports that a Celina ISD teacher appeared to be impaired while on campus.

When officers arrived, they spoke with the teacher and determined there was cause to take her into custody. The teacher, identified as 40-year-old Jainya Bystrova Walder of Celina, was arrested and transported to the Collin County Jail. She was booked on a charge of Endangering a Child.  Walder is originally from Moscow, Russia.  According to the Celina ISD webpage, Walder is a Secondary English Teacher.

According to police, the investigation remains active, and the case will be referred to the Collin County District Attorney’s Office for review and potential prosecution.

Celina ISD has not released additional details regarding the incident or Walder’s employment status. The Celina Police Department stated that no further information can be provided at this time.
