Dallas Police Officers Rescue Driver From Submerged Vehicle at Bachman Lake

Dramatic body worn camera footage was released today by the Dallas Police Department, showcasing the heroic actions of two officers who rescued a driver from a submerged vehicle in Bachman Lake during the early hours of July 5th.

At approximately 3:10 a.m., Dallas Police received a distress call from the 2900 block of Shorecrest Drive, alerting them to a potential emergency situation. Responding swiftly, officers arrived at the scene to find a vehicle partially submerged in the lake. Without hesitation, Sergeants Paul Kessenich and Matt Carlson sprang into action.

Realizing the urgency of the situation, the two officers immediately jumped into the water and swam towards the sinking vehicle. With remarkable strength and determination, they managed to pull the unconscious driver from the submerged car and bring them to safety on the nearby dock.

Once on land, fellow officers began performing CPR on the victim while awaiting the arrival of Dallas Fire-Rescue (DFR) personnel. DFR quickly responded to the scene and provided further medical assistance before transporting the victim to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Dallas Police released the body worn camera footage of the rescue.
