In a commendable act of vigilance, an observant resident of an apartment complex located on the 500 block of E. Buckingham Rd. spotted two suspicious individuals in the parking lot last night (July 11, 2023) at approximately 10:00 p.m. The resident promptly notified the authorities, setting into motion a chain of events that resulted in the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of stolen property.
Upon receiving the call, the first responding police officer arrived swiftly at the scene. However, as soon as the suspects caught sight of the officer, they attempted to flee. The officer immediately called for backup, and additional units quickly arrived at the apartment complex.
With a coordinated effort, the responding officers successfully apprehended both suspects, preventing their escape. Subsequent searches revealed that the individuals were in possession of stolen items, including a purse, credit cards, and various other belongings. These belongings were traced back to two separate vehicles within the vicinity.
The diligent police officers were able to return the stolen property to the rightful owners, who expressed gratitude for the swift action and the recovery of their possessions. The suspects now face charges of Evading Arrest/Detention and Burglary of a Vehicle, which carry serious consequences under the law
