75-Year-Old Man Dies in Wrong-Way Crash on Interstate 35 in Denton

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, a devastating accident occurred on Interstate 35, resulting in the death of a 75-year-old man identified as Philip Ross Interrante from Saint Jo, Texas.

The incident took place around 2:17 a.m., prompting the Denton Police to respond to a reported crash in the 2000 block of Interstate 35, close to Presbyterian Hospital. According to the initial police report, it appeared that Interrante was driving the wrong way on the highway when he collided with another vehicle, causing a severe impact.

Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene and transported the injured driver, Interrante, to Medical City Denton for immediate medical attention. Despite the best efforts of the medical personnel, the elderly man eventually succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash.

As a precautionary measure, all northbound lanes of Interstate 35 were temporarily closed down to facilitate the investigation and allow officers to work effectively at the crash site.
