In the early hours of August 12, 2023, a devastating accident unfolded on Wilshire Blvd, sending shockwaves through the community. The Burleson Police Department is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the incident, which resulted in the tragic death of a 17-year-old pedestrian.
At approximately 12:45 a.m., emergency services including the Burleson Fire Department, Police Department, and MedStar EMS rushed to the scene of a major collision in the 3500 block of SW Wilshire Blvd, located just in front of the local Anytime Fitness establishment. Preliminary reports indicate that an 18-year-old driver was traveling along Wilshire Blvd when their vehicle struck the unsuspecting pedestrian.
The driver remained on the schene, immediately contacted 911 and offered aid to the injured pedestrian. According to investigators, the driver exhibited no signs of intoxication.
Despite the valiant efforts of first responders and medical professionals, the 17-year-old victim succumbed to their injuries. The young individual was expeditiously transported to a Fort Worth trauma center, where they were sadly pronounced deceased.
