Teen Subject of Amber Alert Charged with Murder of Garland Man; Second Suspect Still at Large

Murder suspects: Natalie Navarro and Yordy Martinez

On August 29, shortly after 10:00 AM, Garland police officers responded to a distress call at Audubon Park located at 342 West Oates Road. The call reported a male subject possibly unconscious in a vehicle.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers made a grim discovery as they found the male to be deceased with apparent gunshot wounds. Garland detectives were called to the scene to investigate the incident.

The victim has been identified as a 21-year-old resident of Mesquite who had been reported as a missing person to the Dallas Police Department just two days prior, on August 27, 2023.

In the course of their investigation, Garland detectives identified two individuals as persons of interest in connection to the murder. Arrest warrants for Murder have been issued for both suspects: Natalie Navarro, 17 years old, and Yordy Martinez, 21 years old.

Natalie Navarro was the subject of an Ambert Alert issued by the Dallas Police Department earlier today.   Later in the day, Police cancelled the Amber Alert saying Natalie had been found safe.  Now, she has been charged with murder.

Yordy Martinez remains at large and is wanted for Murder. Garland Police are intensifying their efforts to locate and apprehend Martinez.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Martinez or with information related to this incident is encouraged to call the Garland Police Department at 972-485-4840.
