On September 5th, 2023, at approximately 2:14 p.m., Plano Police Detectives arrested nine individuals for burglary of a habitation in the 6500 block of Independence Parkway.

Members of our Burglary Unit and detectives from other investigative units were following up on burglary offenses that had previously occurred in Plano on August 16th and August 26th. After reviewing several hours of surveillance video, they identified possible suspect vehicles.

On September 5th, 2023, detectives were notified of suspects who traveled to the Plano area from Houston. Detectives located vehicles associated with the burglaries and began surveilling them. The suspects were observed casing an apartment complex and purchasing tools commonly used in burglaries, suggesting they were planning to commit a crime. Suspects returned to the complex with the tools, and detectives confirmed a burglary occurred. With the assistance of patrol units and Texas DPS, all nine suspects were arrested. Detectives recovered the victims’ jewelry items and the suspects’ burglary tools.

The suspects were transported via the jail van without incident to the Plano City Jail. Our detention staff booked the individuals into the jail in an expedited process. All subjects arrested were transported to Collin County Detention Center for a bond hearing.
