On September 17, 2023, at approximately 4:00pm, emergency responders from Everman Fire/EMS and the Police Department were called to the scene of a collision in the 200 block of Shelby Road, close to the Thomas Place intersection.
The collision involved a female pedestrian who was hit by a cargo trailer attached to a pickup truck while it was moving along Shelby Road. The woman suffered substantial injuries as a result of the accident, leading the paramedics from Everman to request the assistance of CareFlite.
Subsequently, a CareFlite helicopter was dispatched to the scene to transport the injured woman to a trauma center located in Fort Worth. Her injuries were described as life-threatening.
The incident remains under investigation.
