On Friday, September 22, 2023, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to a car wreck in the 3600 block of Hogan Lane.
According to investigators, the driver of a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling in the 1500 block of Arbrook Blvd. at a high rate of speed, lost control of the vehicle, crossed the center median, and collided with a 2018 Toyota Camry that was traveling in the westbound lanes.
The impact of the collision caused the Chevrolet to strike an electrical pole before ultimately coming to rest in the backyard of a residence on Hogan Lane.
The driver of the Chevrolet sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Tragically, there was a 20-year-old female passenger inside the Chevrolet who was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.
The driver and occupants of the Toyota Camry were uninjured. Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
Investigators believe that speed played a significant role in the occurrence of this accident.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified.
