WalletHub Releases Updated Unemployment Rate Rankings by State, Texas Ranked 8th Worst

As inflation slows but prices remain relatively high, and with the U.S. gaining 336,000 jobs in September, WalletHub has unveiled its latest rankings for Changes in Unemployment Rate by State. In an effort to assess how unemployment rates are evolving across the United States, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia based on six key metrics that evaluate unemployment rate statistics from September 2023 in comparison to key dates in 2023, 2022, 2020, and 2019.

According to the report, Texas ranked as the 8th Worst State in terms of changes in the unemployment rate. Here are the key findings for Texas:
