On October 3, 2023, in Lewisville, a DWI enforcement officer with the Lewisville Police Department was conducting speed enforcement in the 2400 block of South Interstate 35E. While on duty, the officer observed a vehicle traveling at excessive speeds. As he approached the vehicle, his in-car license plate reader alerted him to a potential issue. The system indicated that the vehicle had been reported stolen with the Dallas Police Department.
Following this alert, the officer promptly pulled over the vehicle. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the driver, identified as 54-year-old Michael Tucker of Denton, was operating the stolen vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
As a result of the incident, Michael Tucker was placed under arrest and charged with two offenses: driving while intoxicated (DWI) and unauthorized use of a vehicle. After processing, Tucker was released from custody upon posting a bond of $7,000.
