Argument With Wife Prompts Watauga Man to Exit Vehicle on Highway 287, Dies After Getting Struck by Another Car

In a devastating incident on Saturday, November 10, emergency services responded to a major accident along southbound Highway 287 near Blue Mound Road at approximately 8:42 pm.

The Fort Worth Fire Department, Police Department, and MedStar EMS were dispatched following a 9-1-1 call from a woman reporting that her husband had been struck by a vehicle. Initial findings indicate that the couple had a disagreement while in their vehicle, prompting them to pull over. Subsequently, the man exited the vehicle and attempted to cross the highway, where he was hit by an oncoming motorist.

First responders discovered the victim in the grassy median between the northbound and southbound lanes. Both directions of the highway were temporarily closed as MedStar and paramedic crews made efforts to revive the 28-year-old man. Unfortunately, his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as a 28-year-old Jordon Jacob Beggs from Watauga. The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident remained at the scene and will not be facing any charges in connection with the tragic incident.
