Killeen police are currently conducting an investigation following the discovery of human remains on Tuesday afternoon. At around 2:56 p.m., officers responded to reports from witnesses who found the remains in a wooded area within the 1700 block of Copperfield Circle.
The recovered remains will be sent to the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas for autopsy to ascertain the cause of death and establish the identity of the deceased.
The investigation is ongoing, and no additional information is currently available.
