In the early morning hours of December 29, 2023, Dallas Police responded to a shooting incident in the 3100 block of Harry Hines Blvd. Upon arrival, officers discovered two teenagers who had sustained gunshot wounds.
Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. On December 31, 2023, a 14-year-old male succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The second teen, also a 14-year-old male, is expected to survive his injuries.
Initially, the 16-year-old male believed to be responsible for the shooting was arrested on two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. However, authorities have decided to upgrade one of the Aggravated Assault charges to Manslaughter.
