On Friday, January 5, at 7:02 am, emergency responders were dispatched to a major accident on State Highway 34 near the Lake Bardwell bridge.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of a sedan, a 21-year-old man from Ennis, was traveling eastbound on State Highway 34. The driver attempted to make a u-turn and was subsequently struck by a pickup truck.
Tragically, the driver of the sedan was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The crash is currently under investigation.
