On the night of January 2, 2024, at around 10:30 pm, Sansom Park Police midnight officers responded to a report from FLOCK regarding a stolen vehicle near Skyline Drive in Sansom Park (Tarrant County).
An officer successfully located the stolen vehicle on Beverly Hills Drive and began trailing it until backup arrived. The vehicle turned onto 24th Street from McCandless Street, prompting officers to initiate a high-risk traffic stop.
Despite attempts, the vehicle failed to yield and sped north on Sherman Avenue. Due to adverse weather conditions, officers opted not to pursue the vehicle, but the situation took a turn when the vehicle lost control, crashing into the fence line while crossing Azle Avenue.
The driver managed to escape on foot as officers faced challenges approaching the vehicle due to a barbed wire fence and obstructing wires. Sansom Park Police, with assistance from the Fort Worth Police Department and AIR 1, conducted an extensive search of the area.
As of now, the case remains active, and an ongoing investigation is underway.
