Rowlett Police officers executed a successful apprehension of individuals involved in a foot pursuit following a traffic stop. The incident unfolded today around 12:28 PM when officers identified a stolen vehicle with expired registration.
Upon initiating a traffic stop, the vehicle briefly traveled in the wrong lane on Lakeview Pkwy before coming to a stop in a parking lot at 8500 Lakeview Pkwy. Subsequently, four individuals, comprising two juveniles and two adults, fled on foot.
Responses from additional officers ensured the successful apprehension of all suspects. A video was going around social media showing the foot chase in this incident.
The charges filed include unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and evading in a vehicle for the driver, while the other suspects face charges of evading on foot.
The lawful owner of the stolen vehicle was notified and took possession of the recovered vehicle.
