UCU and UT Arlington Athletics Join Forces for Financial Well-Being and Maverick Success

University Credit Union (UCU) has proudly announced its partnership with the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) Athletics. The collaboration extends membership access to UTA students, employees, alumni, and affiliated families, marking a significant opportunity for UCU to broaden its support for higher education and positively impact university communities.

With a distinguished history of supporting the University of California (UC) system, UCU sees this partnership as a vital chance to bring its expertise to Texas and contribute to the financial well-being and long-term success of university communities in the region. The collaboration is seen as a perfect fit given UCU's extensive experience in exclusively serving universities.

Dr. David Tuyo II, CEO and President of University Credit Union, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “We couldn’t be more excited to team up and win with the UT Arlington Athletics Department. This partnership further represents our strength and commitment as the leading financial partner with universities across the country.”

The partnership encompasses the sponsorship of the UT Arlington Mavericks, making UCU the official debit and credit card provider for UTA Athletics (anticipated to launch in late 2024). Additionally, there will be a strong focus on promoting financial well-being for students, employees, faculty, alumni, and retirees associated with UT Arlington.

Jon Fagg, UTA Director of Athletics, shared his enthusiasm, saying, “We’re thrilled to begin what we hope will be a long and successful partnership with University Credit Union. UCU has already invested with the Western Athletic Conference, and we’re looking forward to further enhancing UCU’s mission through a collaborative relationship which will benefit all Maverick supporters and provide them with valuable and tangible financial services.”
