In the afternoon on January 18, 2024, a routine traffic stop conducted by an Irving Police Officer led to the apprehension of 36-year-old William Courtney. Courtney attempted to flee, prompting a pursuit that involved multiple officers. After a brief struggle, he was successfully apprehended.
During a search, Courtney was found to be in possession of various narcotics. Following the incident, he was charged with multiple offenses, including possession of a controlled substance PG 1/1-B (meth or fentanyl), two counts of manufacture/deliver of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana under 4 grams, evading arrest detention, and resisting arrest.
It was revealed that Courtney has a history of arrests and previous convictions related to drug possession and dealing.
