Fort Worth Police Department Introduces Dedicated Team for Historic Stockyards

Responding to the growing number of visitors flocking to the iconic Stockyards in Texas, the Northwest Division of the Fort Worth Police Department has unveiled a specialized team dedicated to ensuring safety and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

Recognizing the need for increased police presence in the area, the Northwest Division collaborated closely with officers and command staff to establish this new initiative.

Comprised of officers who have undergone specialized bike certification training, the newly formed team will patrol the Stockyards, working alongside existing patrol units to address the unique challenges of the area.

While maintaining a focus on patrol staffing, the introduction of this team allows for a more flexible and dynamic approach to policing, tailored to the vibrant environment of the Stockyards.

To ensure the effectiveness of the initiative, weekly meetings will be held to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed. Additionally, the public is encouraged to provide feedback and suggestions to help shape the initiative to best serve the community's needs.

Northwest Division Commander J. Kim expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, "We view this as an exciting opportunity to not only enhance safety but also to foster stronger connections with the community. Together, we can make the Stockyards a safer, more welcoming place for everyone."
