The Dallas Department is continuing its investigation into the 2021 murder of 19-year-old John “Lil John” Hightower.
On July 4, 2021, Mr. Hightower was enjoying the Fourth of July fireworks with friends in the 3000 block of South Street when he became caught in a gun battle between unknown suspects. He sustained a gunshot wound and was rushed to a local hospital. Despite medical efforts, Mr. Hightower succumbed to his injury on July 6, 2021.
