Beginning Tuesday, May 28, crews will start replacing the brick pavers at the four crosswalks in the intersection of Irving Boulevard and Sowers Road. All directions will remain open to through traffic, but lanes will be reduced for the duration of the work. The project is expected to be completed by Thursday, May 30, weather permitting.
Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes when possible and to slow down through construction zones.
Project Information
The work is associated with the Irving Boulevard Reconstruction Project, a $22.2 million investment by the City of Irving to enhance the downtown corridor by accommodating vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle traffic, reducing the number of vehicle lanes to two and using the remaining right-of-way for parallel parking, wider sidewalks, a bike lane and streetscape amenities.
