Suspect Arrested for Aggravated Assault After Peeping Incident in Irving

On Monday, May 20, 2024, at approximately 6:08 am, Irving Police Officers responded to an aggravated assault call at the Wingren Village Apartments, located in the 2400 block of Wingren Rd in North Irving.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two men, a 37-year-old and a 22-year-old, who had been assaulted. The investigation revealed that a man had been observed peeping into a juvenile's bedroom window in one of the apartments. The apartment owner and a witness confronted the individual, who then fled on foot. Both men chased the suspect and tackled him. During the altercation, the suspect assaulted both men with a weapon.

The Irving Police Department did not disclose the type of weapon used. Despite the assault, both men were able to wrestle the suspect down and detain him until officers arrived and took him into custody. The suspect was transported to the Irving City Jail.

The suspect was identified as 50-year-old Nelson Neftali Ventura, a resident of the 1000 block of Falcon Dr in South Irving. He was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Assault Causing Minor Injury. The two men who detained him were identified as 22-year-old Willian Turcios-Hernandez and 37-year-old Jaime Palacios-Rivas.

On May 22, 2024, Ventura was transferred to the Dallas County Jail.
