assengers traveling in Dallas’ Central Business District via DART may experience delays over the weekends of June 28-July 1 and July 12-15 due to necessary maintenance on DART Rail’s high-voltage power source, known as the catenary. This maintenance process, called “re-tensioning,” might also extend to the contingency dates of July 19-22 if additional time is needed for repairs.
The repair work will be conducted in 54-hour shifts, with one track remaining open from 9 p.m. on Friday, June 28, to 3 a.m. on Monday, July 1, and again from Friday, July 12, to Monday, July 15. During this period, DART will operate a single train in both directions, serving all stations between Pearl/Arts District and West End.
While the re-tensioning is underway, three shuttle bus routes will replace rail lines at specific stations. The shuttles will operate from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Fridays and from 4 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. Normal rail service is scheduled to resume at 3 a.m. on Monday mornings. The maintenance and shuttle service could be postponed to contingency weekends due to weather.
