Luis Canosa has been elected to Place 4 on the Irving City Council during the runoff election held on June 15. In Irving's council-manager form of government, the council is responsible for setting city policy, while the city manager oversees operational functions.
Residents of Irving elect a mayor and eight council members, each serving three-year terms. The city operates under a mixed system that includes both single-member districts and at-large seats.
