Irving Conducts Lead and Copper Monitoring Following AMWA Gold Award

The City of Irving, recently honored with the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA) Gold Award for exceptional utility performance, continues its commitment to delivering high-quality water and customer service. The city maintains consistent compliance with all regulatory requirements.

This summer, Irving Water Utilities will conduct lead and copper monitoring as mandated by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) under the Lead and Copper Rule. This initiative is part of the city's ongoing efforts to ensure the delivery of safe drinking water.

In addition to monitoring, Irving Water Utilities is surveying all water service lines to determine their material composition. This effort aligns with the upcoming revisions to the Lead and Copper Rule, which will take effect in October. The results of the service line identification will be published for public review at that time.

For more information on lead and copper test data, check out the “Drinking Water Test Data” section in the City of Irving's 2023 Water Quality Report at CityofIrving.org/Water-Report. Irving Water is proud to provide award-winning drinking water and service to the community.
