On Monday, July 29, at approximately 10:14 p.m., emergency responders from the Fort Worth Fire Department, Police Department, and MedStar EMS arrived at the scene of a significant collision in the westbound lanes of Interstate 30 near Walsh Ranch Parkway. The incident involved a vehicle and an 18-wheeler. According to police, the vehicle rear-ended the 18-wheeler while the truck was stationary in traffic. The driver of the tractor-trailer remained on-site and cooperated with authorities.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 17-year-old Raffie Lin James from Weatherford, was pronounced deceased at the scene. No charges are expected at this time.
The crash is under investigation.
