Just after 5 a.m. on Thursday, August 1st, a Little Elm officer observed a suspected drunk driver near Logan Springs Drive and FM 423. The driver failed to stop when signaled, prompting a low-speed pursuit. The pursuit continued through the Frisco Ranch and Sunset Pointe neighborhoods. Officers deployed tire deflation strips on three occasions in an attempt to safely disable the vehicle, but the driver persisted at a low speed. Ultimately, officers utilized a controlled vehicle stopping technique to safely conclude the pursuit.
One individual is now in custody, facing charges of evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance, both felony offenses.
